Print – Play – Make with Kylie Wickham Day 1 Session Suitable for: PRIMARY Join the amazing Kylie Wickham is this workshop session and experience the joy of gelli printing! Afraid of printmaking? Not sure where to begin? This is the class for you! Gelli printing is a monotype printmaking technique where each print is unique. The mark making experience is playful and explorative, naturally linking to the elements of art. In this workshop, we will consider, “How do you make a picture work, make it ‘successful’?” There are rules and conventions to follow: balance, value, symmetry etc – but we will also explore that instinctual “yes moments”. Your students will marvel and the marks and colours they have created, each print is like magic when they peel back the paper to see what has happened underneath. This is art by exploring, experimenting and playing! About the Presenter After finishing my Bacheler of Arts and Diploma of Teaching I wasn’t sure what direction I wanted to head in. I knew I had one major passion and that was art. Over the next decade I spent most of my time travelling and working. I found myself working in galleries such as the NGV and the TATE London. But it was teaching where I really found my stride, working in Secondary Schools to begin with and then moving into Primary Education. Consulting with Zart has enabled me to work in adult education and create online workshops. Zart China has given me opportunities to produce workshops at an international level.
