In early 2020, Australian’s we’re asked to return home due to Covid19. What does home mean to you? This workshop will look at artworks from artists such as Sally Gabori, Howard Arkley and John Olsen who use the theme ‘home’ as inspiration for their work.
Participants will then create their own responses to home using paint.

Join experienced educator Emma Hewett-Smiles exploring a subject we all can connect to.

 

About the Presenter

Emma is currently an Educator at Zart and works as a Teacher in Primary Schools. She has a Bachelor of Arts – Communication Studies, a Bachelor of Education, a Master of Arts and is completing her Master of Arts Education currently at Melbourne University. She previously has worked in government and non-government schools as Visual Arts Specialist and a generalist primary teacher. She was the Schools and Community Groups coordinator for five years at The Salvation Army and recently worked as part of the Education team at The National Gallery of Victoria. Emma considers herself an art hobbyist. Her own art practice includes watercolour painting, life-drawing and ceramics.
