During a whole school Recycling Unit in Visual Arts at Mt Eliza North Primary School students created a range of artworks all through the use of recycled materials.

Mt Eliza North Primary School is an accredited IB PYP school and the Transdisciplinary Theme of ‘How We Express Ourselves’ and the Central Idea that ‘Art can be made from recycled and sustainable materials using a variety of art techniques and skills’ were incorporated throughout the unit.

Ideas for art activities came from internet research, prior knowledge and a Zart Art Recycled Art PD. The year was divided into units of inquiry involving specific materials and skills each term. The last term was dedicated to creating an exhibition of the year’s work.
