Florian Nicolle Inspired Portraits

Term: 3 Year: 2017

Year 8 students from Haileybury College, Brighton created a mixed media artwork from a variety of materials.

In this task they took a photograph of themselves, digitally manipulate the photograph to achieve areas of light and areas of dark, and combined it with different types of paper and different drawing and painting mediums to create a finished artwork.

Students researched the mixed media portraiture of Florian Nicolle and used selected portraits as inspiration. They used a variety of media and materials in the production of the final artwork, including: grey lead pencil, soft pastel, water colour or coloured pencil and brown paper, white paper, newsprint, and fine point pen.
