During the Year 9 Wearable Art elective students at Koonung Secondary College created paper headdresses.Inspired by the past to create a new future, students researched historical or cultural hair designs to form a basis for a paper wig sculpture.

They were asked to consider the social influences of the hairstyle and how things have changed over time. For inspiration on using paper as a sculptural form, students consulted the Paper-Cut-Project (https://www.paper-cut-project.com/), a collaboration of two artists to transform paper into dynamic silhouettes. Nikki Nye and Amy Flurry were commissioned from several of the worlds top fashion houses including Kate Spade and Valentino.
