Mixed Media

The students were learning about their local Environment and combined the idea with a lesson incorporating green tonal ranges. Year 2 had been learning about their home, their suburbs and their city in their class Unit of Enquiry theme. That knowledge was incorporated into their art lesson. They learnt about mixing green tones and challenged themselves to use a different tone for each hill. They drew their own home and places of interest in their composition. They tried different techniques with oil pastels. To contrast with the oil pastel students used dye in some areas.
