Mosaic Dogs

Term: 3 Year: 2013

Year 9 students at Brighton Grammar School as a part of their Sea Change programme get to select to do an Artist in Residence activity.

This involves a select number of boys working closely with a professional artist. The boys were very lucky to have the opportunity to work with artist Jane Byrne last year. Under her guidance, the students designed dogs and then created wire armatures which were covered in plaster. These sculptures were then transformed into three dimensional mosaics by the students.

These mosaic dogs now live happily in the gardens at Brighton Grammar School.
