Year 7 students at Penola Catholic College explored the Elements of Art as part of the Art/Design course at Year 7. Students were taught about the importance of the elements, and they learnt that the elements are the essential building blocks of an artwork.

Students individually explored each of the elements through a range of exercises. They were required to write about the use of the design elements so that they can understand how to arrange them within a composition

They were required to select their favourite Matisse artwork and to use this as an inspiration to create their own collage using coloured paper.
