iPad Artwork Print Calico Flags

Inspired by the British artist David Hockney, Year 3 students explored the iPad App Brushes Redux and created two artworks inspired by some of Hockney’s reoccurring themes:
• portraits
• chairs
• flowers
• landscapes
• dogs

The artwork was transferred onto different surfaces using two techniques: magic image transfer paper onto calico and foto potch onto blocks of wood.

Brushes Redux records every change you make while creating an artwork, which means you can watch how the artworks are made from start to finish. David Hockney was born in 1937. He started iPhone drawings in 2008 and now uses the iPad like a full-size sketchbook.
