Cartoon Style Faces
Term: 3 Year: 2006
The children had already been taught the basics of cartooning last year.
Through the use of the Exploring Primary Art 3 text, the children looked at more detailed facial features.
The children drew 4 different cartoon pictures and then decided which one they would enlarge and chalk. We then discussed complimentary colours and tone.
The children were shown how to use chalk pastels appropriately to develop tone and interest in their pictures.
The teacher demonstrated how the use of black and white chalks at the conclusion of the picture highlighted certain areas.
