Provide a range of mediums to draw and experiment with. Include natural materials that offer interesting shapes and textures.
Encourage children to draw from Still Life. This teaches colour and shape representation and gets them thinking about form – how can they make their drawing look 3D? Drawing from photographs or artworks can be a helpful first step as it teaches students how a 3D object is represented in 2D.
