Circular Cities

Term: 1 Year: 2018

Students in Year 7 and 8 were required to produce a circular city along the lines of a One Point Perspective.

Students travelled the world past and present on their ICT devices to explore the great architectures. Students were required to take ownership of their own work in deciding which buildings or themes.

The Year 7 students worked on brown paper to create an interesting effect, and the Year 8 students were provided black paper to work with and were required to use white pen, white pencil and lighter colours to enhance their creations.

The objective was for students to ensure the base of the structure was the correct sizing and the building diminished as they reached the vanishing point in the centre of the circle.

This task was a major success, and emphasised the importance of creating different learning tasks and different presentation formats for students and their future Artist development and to provide training for future studies in Visual Communication Design.
