Australian Summer Gum Wreath

Materials

Put aside the holly, pine leaves and cones, this very colourful wreath highlights our most recognisable and iconic flora – the eucalypt gum tree!

Step 1. Colour a Cardboard Ring with a Colour Slick (paint stick).

Step 2. Select a range of colours of Coloured Cardboard (share sheets and offcuts). Cut out eight skinny gum leaves that are approximately 10 – 12cm long with a stem. Vary the leaf shapes so that design looks more organic.

Step 3. Colour half of each leaf with a Colour Slick. Choose a colour that is darker than the colour of the leaf.

Step 4. Use a white Oil Pastel to add detail – lines, shapes and patterns to each leaf.

Step 5. Glue the leaves to the ring with a Glue Stick.

OPTION. For finer line work, substitute the Oil Pastels with White Posca Markers.
