African Art

This student work was developed as part of a Yr 8 study of African culture and art forms.

Students considered the questions What is Art and What is culture?. They reflected on any knowledge and experience they have of Africa. Students used text and the internet to explore and document with pencil, ink and watercolour design elements, symbols and motifs in African Art and Culture.

Following explorations students used key hole composition to select a design for fabric designs and ceramic painting.
