Method
Step 1.
Assemble a Matchbox by folding and bending along the crease lines.
Step 2.
Decorate the front of a gratitude box using markers or assorted scrap papers.
Step 3.
Write a special message and place inside the matchbox.
Step 4.
Place the matchboxes in a large bowl or tray – invite parents and visitors to take a box as a gift.
To create a basket:
Step 5.
Cut two lengths of Chicken Wire, approximately 25cm long. Place the two pieces together and taper off the bottom edges with scissors.
Step 6.
Twist the tapered ends together, and open up to create a basket shape.
Step 7.
Cut a small rectangle 10 x 16cm from corrugated cardboard or scrap cardboard and trim off corners. Push cardboard towards the narrow end of the basket to create a base.
Step 8.
Mould Chicken Wire to create your desired basket shape.
Step 9.
Thread found pieces of string, textured wools and natural yarns loosely though the Chicken Wire.
