Reg’s distinctive and iconic style is fun, playful, and even a little bit cheeky at times. It’s instantly recognisable across all ages and generations. In short, it’s just cool.

Let’s explore the artist behind the designs we all know and love so well with these 2 art making activities. Together we’ll make our own 3D air-dry clay village and watercolour aerial-view town map.

About the Artist
Chris O’Doherty (AKA Reg Mombassa) is a New Zealand born Australian Artist and Musician.

Reg is most well-known as a member of Australian rock bands “Mental as Anything” and “Dog Trumpet”, as well as famously designing for surf brand Mambo where he is responsible for creating and inspiring a treasure trove of new designs, iconic characters and distinctive style.

Reg’s artwork can be found in a range of collections in the Art Gallery of NSW, The National Gallery Canberra, The National Portrait Museum Canberra and The Powerhouse Museum NSW.
