Students in Year 5 from Ashburton Primary School discussed the origins/history of weaving before making their own item. They explored examples of clay weaving looms as inspiration. Clay weaving loom designs were drawn in their visual diaries. They were required to incorporate the circle weaving into their design as a feature. Clay slab rolling techniques were used to design. These were bisque fired and then painted. Finally a woven loom was added in the empty circular space with yarn.
