This unit of work was undertaken through the whole school – Pre-Prep through to Year 6.

A series of 5 photos was discussed encompassing the visual image and the biology of the plant. Students then
selected one photograph to illustrate using a combination of markers, inks, watercolour pencils and paints, depending
on their level.

Their focus was on reproducing the form and structure of the flower and colour, showing the affect of light and
shade. Year 6 were given the choice of abstracting the flower.
