Vintage Pop Star Posters
Term: 3 Year: 2006
Students studied the history of Rock’n’Roll posters.
We discussed their role as a promotional tool to attract youth to their concerts.
The students produced four different designs and selected one for their final piece. They experimented with a range
of materials to achieve the most effective result.
The Mungyo pastels proved very popular alongside the Koh-i-noor watercolours and collage techniques.
Students were encouraged to use a selection of photos if appropriate to their overall design. This topic was initially
planned for three one hour sessions. It ran to six, with the students absolutely enthralled with their individual
pieces.
