Still Life Representation

Term: 3 Year: 2012

Shells

DESIGN BRIEF:

This unit of work will develop your artistic eye for Still Life representation and will allow you to experiment with watercolour and soft pastel techniques. In this activity, the starting point will be a collection of shells arranged with a light source. You will complete a series of exercises to develop your skills with tone and shading. You will then complete a series of design sketches of the shell objects, using both watercolour and black/white shading to depict the light. You will then complete 2 A4 artworks depicting the shell arrangement. One will be black and white soft pastel, the other will be water colour.
