Sizzling Summer Suns
Term: 4 Year: 2009
Discussion with children began with warm colours and how these colours are always used to represent the sun.
Children designed a sun with their focus on the elements of Pattern, line and colour.
A large piece of cardboard was covered with Aluminium Foil and the students drew a large sun, tracing around a stencil
for the centre and then designed repetitive rays around this shape. The centre and rays were then filled in with patterns
using a black marker. Vipond paint in warm colours were used to colour the suns. When the paint was dry the students outlined
the shape with black markers.
