Early 2010 saw the beginnings of a large Art project in the Korowa Junior School. The theme,
‘Sharing our Humanity’ is the International Baccalaureate focus for 2010.

Discussions with all the year groups defined the meaning of Sharing and discussed the definition of
Humanity.

The project resulted in a series of canvases completed by each class from
Beginners to Year 6.

Each canvas had a different title based on the theme, and each was completed in a different style and with
materials varying from class to class.

Sharing our Humanity has been expressed through ceremonies, festivals and celebrations, our communion with
animals and the environment , the love of family, the importance of education, the plight of migrants
and refugees, the benefits of sport and the connection between support given and support received in
times of trouble.

The culmination of all the work is thirteen canvases illustrating thirteen ways that we can live
collectively, and consciously aim to make the world a more wonderful place.
