Science Lab Explosions

Term: 4 Year: 2013

The Grade 5 children had been working on Science experiments in their classroom.

After researching scientific apparatus including flasks and beakers we began our work by drawing the outline of our container with grey lead.

We then used liquid food dye by squirting on a small amount. Using a straw, we blew the dye up through the top of the container. We painted the dye with a wet brush across the bottom of the container to give the impression of the liquid.

Using powdered food dye we sprinkled some extra colour around the top of our work and then splashed water onto this powder. When the work was dry we outlined our flasks and beakers with fine liner.
