Let Nature Be Your Medicine with Tania Di Berardino These videos are for registered workshop participants only, and are not to be downloaded or shared with anyone. Let Nature be your Medicine is an introduction to Wellness, the natural environment and art making. Being in nature, or even viewing scenes of nature, reduces anger, fear, and stress and increases pleasant feelings. Exposure to nature not only makes you feel better emotionally, it contributes to your physical wellbeing. By incorporating nature into your art projects we will foster creativity. Allowing students to work with materials they aren’t familiar with and explore found objects as part of the creative process encourages curiosity. In this two-part workshop we will explore a range of art making activities & ideas using the natural environment as both a source of materials as well as inspiration. Part A: In this first section, we will learn how to spark curiosity in your students; collecting, discovering natures shapes, textures and patterns. Together we will explore our findings through drawing and watercolour painting. Part B: In the second section, we will continue to explore the natural environment through the techniques of Gel Plate Printing and Collage with a focus on composition.
