iPad Art: Flowers for Hockney A Live & Online Professional Learning Workshop with Dee Zabel These workshop videos will be available for you to view until the beginning of Term Two (access expires on 18th April, 2021) These videos are for registered workshop participants only, and are not to be downloaded or shared with anyone. This workshop will be dedicated to familiarising you with the App Brushes Redux, an application that you can use with your students to enhance your traditional Art program. The focus will be on using this drawing/painting App to create still life inspired by artist David Hockney. The Workshop Video will show how to create new artworks, adjust brush sizes and change colours within Brushes Redux to build skills and confidence before attending the live workshop. During the Online Webinar Session, you will be guided in how to create an artwork on the iPad and we’ll discuss ideas for different ways of displaying digital artworks. GETTING READY! To check that your iPad is fully updated, on your iPad go to: SETTINGS > GENERAL > Software Update You will also need to download and install the FREE App: Brushes Redux before proceeding. An invitation link will be emailed to you within 1 week, and then again within 24 hours, of your session commencement time. Click Here to visit Zoom Help Center and Support PREPARE YOUR EQUIPMENT Participants will need the following prepared prior to attending the online webinar session: • PC desktop or Laptop* with reliable internet connection and access to Zoom 5.0 • Webcam • Microphone • Space to Work • A Quiet Area with no noise or distractions and • Your iPad (fully charged & updated with the Brushes Redux App) *It is recommended that you do not use your iPad as your main device to join the online session, as you need to be able to see, hear and speak with Dee online while simultaneously working on your iPad as she guides you through the art-making activity. Therefore, we suggest using a PC desktop or laptop which has Zoom installed with microphone and webcam facilities as your main ‘Zoom’ device; and use your iPad as your second ‘art-making’ device. TEST YOUR TECHNOLOGY To best safeguard against technology issues on the day, we strongly recommend taking time to make sure you have everything tested and ready to go before joining the live session. We suggest taking time to check that your Zoom App/Program is downloaded, installed and accessible on the main device you will be using to log in for the session. We also highly recommend ensuring your webcam and microphone are working on your chosen device before the live session.
