An essential workshop for anyone using paint in the classroom!
Paint, Paint, Paint! From Palette knife to pointillism, stippling to sgraffito, this workshop is designed to equip educators how to use paint and apply painting techniques that are appropriate for students of all levels (F-6).
Do you have the next Marlene Dumas or Bridgette Riley in your class? How about the next Lucian Freud or Gerhard Richter? You never know! These master painters and giants of the art world were all primary school students at one time. They all had teachers who handed them their first paintbrush.
Learn strategies to prompt students to create and have ownership over their own work, whilst building a toolbox of skills and techniques they can use in the future. Plan lessons and practical art-making experiences that empower students to explore, create and play.
Discover ways to communicate through paint, and use it to express thoughts, feelings and experiences. Use colour, texture and tone to infer personal meaning and deeper thinking.
This workshop aims to encourage students to engage in conversations and share opinions about artwork as both creator and viewer. Use a range of strategies and techniques for responding, interpreting and inferring meaning within artwork, pictures and photographs. Don’t forget your apron!
