Natural Mosaics

Term: 3 Year: 2013

At St Vincent De Paul our focus was on the natural environment of Moonee Ponds Creek.

Students were involved in art activities using natural or recycled materials.

Students collected sticks from around the playground area.  We discussed how they could be used in a work of art.  We used recycled canvas boards which students painted over.  Students used wool, wood cuts and other natural materials to create their art.

Students worked in pairs to decorate the natural materials we had collected.  Students used wool and paint to change the sticks. The pieces were arranged and then we had an “Artist Walk’ where we shared our ideas.  After feedback students used Supertac to attach the pieces.
