During the term our focus in art for the whole school was portraits.

The level four students studied the work of Leonardo Da Vinci, particularly the Mona Lisa and then we looked at
some parody pieces based on Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa.

The challenge was to create their own parody piece, focusing on what was the same in all the art works. The
students were required to use some texture in the art piece but were able to select their preferred medium. Some used
acrylic paint while others used Poster paints and watercolour dyes were popular for backgrounds.

The final results looked fantastic when they were all displayed.
