Microscopic Cellular Ecosystems
Term: 2 Year: 2020
Year 4 students were ‘thinking and behaving like scientists’ to symbolise Microscopic Cellular Ecosystems characteristics as part of their ‘How the world works’ Unit of Inquiry
The students’ inquiry into the cellular detail of gathered elements from some of our Mt. Rowan campus ecosystems, involved direct observation using microscopes as scientific instruments. Expression of these observations was then explored by dripping ink and experimenting with the reactions of overlaying colour to impact shape and generate new colours.
Throughout this process, students considered the work of contemporary artists Klari Reis, focusing on the elements of colour and shape in response to her ideas.
