Fancy printing your own currency? What would it be? Dollars, Rupee’s, Rials. Or perhaps 200 Susans, or 10 Georges.

Year 8 have been printing their own Money! We have been looking at symbolism in currency and how different objects can symbolise different things.

Students were inspired by the work of Ryan Prestley, an Indigenous Australian artist who changes the money that we know to reflect Aboriginal history and stories, but there are also lots of other artists who use money to create art.

Students then used collage to create designs for their own Money, and then at last we created solar etchings!
