Interpretation of Ah Xian’s Sculpture Term: 3 Year: 2011 To coincide with our unit in Asian Studies, the year five and six students looked at Ah Xian’s sculptures and interpreted his art by looking for elements such as the influence of the artist’s heritage in his designs. The students were inspired by Ah Xian’s sculptures and proceeded to construct their own with paper clay, using a skewer as their tool. Their torso sculptures were then painted with under colour glaze and decorated with print transfers prior to glazing.
