Year 5 students examined the architecture of Antonio Gaudi through posters and resource books.

They worked in groups and discussed the interesting features of the different buildings. (i.e. La Sagrada
Familia, pavilions from ParcGuell etc.)  Year 5 students were then challenged to draw their own
Gaudi inspired building using their own interesting organic shapes. When their drawing was complete
students were asked to make a model of their design using air drying clay. We had two sessions
experimenting with the clay and how to create effective 3D organic shapes that would stand firmly.
Students only had one lesson to create their building. When their model was dry students used bright
coloured paints, fine liners and sequins to add the ornate detail to their buildings.
