Flying Ducks

Term: 2 Year: 2012

The popular flying ducks wall ornament of the 50s and 60s became the inspiration of this art work.

The students were asked to observe the wing position of flying ducks and how the shape of their bodies changed when extended in flight.  After sketching three varying size ducks the students used Air Dry Clay to recreate a three dimensional replica of their drawings.  The ducks were painted and decorated in Shimmer Paint and when dry placed on a background before being mounted in a picture frame.
