Evolved Species Term: 3 Year: 2008 Year Seven students experimented with the use of a fine liner and mark making, to discover the numerous textures and tones that lines can create. These ‘Evolved Species’ are a result of the students writing their name down the page with a different font per letter. The mirror image was drawn, followed by extending and omitting parts to develop these images. Line, repetition and contrast were the crucial design elements/principles employed and further development of the work evolved, when the students used their ‘Artistic License’ to complete the task.
