Desert Journeys Unit Paper Sculpture Term: 2 Year: 2007 Children worked as a whole grade on these projects after participating in preliminary sessions, individually exploring and developing a variety of paper skills. The paper was pre-cut ready for the children to roll, fold, cut and join the forms. The animal shapes, based on characters in a book about the Kimberly, were drawn on large paper and later cut out. Classes responded well to this activity and loved pasting their forms into position and seeing the effect they'd created. Later discussions, once the work was displayed, highlighted the effect light and shade added to the artworks. Kingswood College
