Art Alphabet

Students from Bulleen Heights constructed and transformed alphabet letters into works of art. They began with the first letter of their name and made drawings of everything they could think of starting with that letter. Students decided on one idea to develop. They needed to consider the shape of the letter and how it could be integral to the image. A range of art materials, new and recycled, were provided for students to explore and to choose from. As inspiration, they viewed alphabet posters and animations illustrating different examples of how letters and images work together in a quirky and whimsical way.

Students experienced a range of art forms, including drawing, painting and construction. The project provided students an opportunity to problem solve construction issues when transforming a 2D drawing into 3D form.
