Abstract Expressionist Paintings

Term: 4 Year: 2017

Year 10 students from Oxley Christian College created an Abstract Expressionist painting. In this unit of study students explore notions of abstraction. Students analyse and interpret the work of Dale Chihuly, exploring his many methods for creating both 2D and 3D works of art. Students practised, explore and experiment with mark making techniques as aimed to create a balanced abstract painting of their own, with a focus on creating gestural movements.
