You will learn to make a mask or headdress using a broad range of papers with patterns and textures.
Work with Jacqui to create symmetrical patterns and 3D features using simple designs, and discover tips on how to make your artworks last through clever cutting and pasting techniques.
About the Presenter
Jacqui Stockdale lives and works in Melbourne, Victoria. She is a 1993 graduate from The Victorian College of the Arts and works across photography, painting, drawing, collage, performance and more recently sculpture and sound. She is best known for her staged photographic portraits combining hand-painted sets, costumes, props and sometimes live animals. Her latest series, The Long Shot, at Linden New Art, St Kilda, comprises mixed media portraits, a model horse the size of Phar Lap and figurative sculptures with sound. Her complex projects often require a team of people including performers, family and community members.
Stockdale’s practice investigates the legacy of colonialism by reconfiguring mythologies from Australian folk history. She has a particular interested in forgotten or untold stories and histories of rural Victoria, where she grew up.
