Watercolour Collage with LED Light Circuit – STEAM Activity

In this video we explore the use of paper circuits to create a layered collage artwork which includes an LED light.

To begin we create a simple collage using watercolour paper and Koh I Noor watercolour discs. We use A6 size cardboard mounts to create layers and depth in our collage. We paste in our collage pieces to create a small landscape and then create our paper circuit.

On the back of our collage we use copper tape to construct our circuit which links to a small LED light and battery. The LED light is poked through the back of our paper collage so that it can be seen at the front of our work. Once everything is connected we create a small paper strip that will allow us to turn our LED light on and off.
