Zart Education celebrates Book Week 2020 with the theme Curious Creatures, Wild Minds, allowing us to support art teachers, classroom teachers and librarians by fostering the love of Australian Literature in our students.

Linking art making activities to literature to extend students’ knowledge and skills around understanding, analysis and evaluation of information. Giving students the platform to make meaning, express their thoughts and emotions, and present ideas and opinions; interact with others and participate in activities at school and in their lives beyond school through relevant and engaging delivery.

To support this, Zart Education’s Book Week publication includes:

  • 1500-word essay exploring the theme, Curious Creatures, Wild Minds
  • Twenty-four art making activities based on the six shortlisted Early Childhood books and six shortlisted Picture books
  • Curriculum linked content discussions and teacher notes

The 2020 theme as chosen by The Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) is “Curious Creatures, Wild Minds”. The focus concepts for this year shortlisted books are Friendship, Gratitude, Resilience, family and belonging.
