Mindfulness

Teacher and Student incursions

  • Increase self-awareness
  • Regulate emotions & develop emotional literacy
  • Improve communication skills & coping strategies
  • Develop an awareness of how our thinking affects our behaviour
  • Link Mindfulness and Art

Zart has developed a series of mindfulness and wellbeing incursions, which are suitable for both teachers and students. They can be conducted in the convenience of your own school, or held at the Zart training centre in Box Hill North. Challenge your thinking, encourage and unlock your creativity, and give your staff and students new skills to use in the classroom for the year ahead.

Option 1: Introduction to Mindfulness

This presentation provides participants with an introduction to Mindfulness.
Part A: Involves what it means to be 'mindful', understanding our brain, an insight into our emotions, an awareness of how our thinking affects our behaviour, and unlocking our creativity.
Part B: Enjoy a guided meditation to focus the mind, learn how to cultivate mindfulness through creative practice and hands-on visual art experiences.

Option 2: Being in the Moment - Art & Mindfulness

Take the time to practice mindfulness & gratitude in the classroom with a simple range of art based experiences. Session will invite creative thinking and will link into all areas of the teaching curriculum.

Incursions are available and suitable for:
Teachers - Staff meetings, curriculum free and incursion days, or teacher network groups.
Art Teachers - Empower your specialist to promote mindfulness in your classrooms and your school community.
Students - Primary and Secondary.
