The Zart Extra is a publication which is sent out to all schools in the first week of each term. It is usually addressed to the art teacher or arts co-ordinator. This newsletter allows art teachers/co-ordinators to learn about what is happening in art education and what other art teachers are doing. There is also information on new art techniques and processes and the latest materials and resources on the market.

Primary Article. Each term a teacher is invited to talk about an exemplary unit of work she/he has taught in a primary school. This visual arts unit may be unique in its ideas, unusual in its approach to skill development or dynamic in its educational outcomes.

Secondary Article. Each term a secondary art teacher is asked to discuss a particular aspect of the secondary visual art curriculum currently being taught at their school. It is an opportunity for teachers to shares their ideas and experiences with their peers.

Profile page. The aim of this section is to place visual arts within the context of the wider community. We try keep teachers informed about what is happening 'out there'. Topics have ranged from art festivals and country art galleries, to art teachers working in other countries or in unusual contexts.

New products. This section informs customers about the latest art and craft products on the market. A short description of the product, and details such as the size, quantity, price and age- appropriateness of the product, accompanies each photo. All products are available at Zart Art.

Activities. These pages provide activities that may be related to a particular new product, technique or resource or they may provide new or different ways of working with old materials. Theses pages are often a good resource for teachers.

The insert of the newsletter provides details of our terms workshops, so teachers can then contact us and book into the workshops. Poster size makes it ideal to pin up in staff room.
