Creating Effective Assessment Rubrics for Evaluating and Supporting Student Learning

Participants will be given time to develop their own rubric to assess a topic or unit of work that is part of their school’s art curriculum. Teachers are encouraged to bring along their laptops (with a fully charged battery) thereby enabling them to produce an electronic version of their own rubrics. The workshop will cover the following areas:
• The development of rubrics assessment model when assessing student work at VELS Level 4,5,6
• Application of a rubrics assessment model to specific units of work in Art and Visual Communication.
• Using assessment rubrics in the development of units of work.
