Description	This workshop provides a stimulating, hands-on approach to the assemblage technique of sculpture, aimed at middle school students. The construction of masks is captivating for male and female students alike, who love to build and create and is a task that all students (regardless of ability) thrive and focus on. This workshop provides teaching and learning strategies, support and ideas to teachers that are ‘3D or sculpture phobic’. This task is economical, manageable, highly successful and rewarding for students, teachers and the whole school community. Following the DREAMER Steps, the participants will investigate various styles of masks from other cultures, make construction and design plans, and assemble the mask completely from newspaper, cardboard and papier mache. Found items and fibres, together with paint application are used to decorate and adorn the tribal mask.
