Description

“2 Day Art Teachers Escape/Adventure”

Join Pamela Irving in a 2 day workshop making a three dimensional sculpture and then covering the piece with mosaics. You will be inspired by Pamela's recent quirky commission for Luna Park, Melbourne. The 25 metre, three dimensional, mural on the Luna Palace Building was commissioned to commemorate Luna Park's 98th Birthday. She has been recommissioned to do a similar amount on the building to commemorate the 99th Birthday this December. The work is particularly aimed at a young audience and is inspirational for students.

Pamela has just returned from the USA where she was keynote speaker at the Society of American Mosaic Artists  Conference in Austin, Texas and gave a lecture at the Chicago Mosaic School.

The work you will create in this workshop will be made using chicken wire and other objects covered with the fabulous Zart Paper Mix, often used by Pamela in her interior pieces. Once the forms are finished participants will learn how to mosaic over a three dimensional form.

The workshop is suitable for Primary and Secondary Art Teachers to take back to the classroom. The workshop is over two days and a ceiling of 20 participants. This will enable participants the ability to spread out and create something substantial and challenging.
