Displays: Displaying student art work

Why do we display?

Displays make the learning visible; they act as a resource for student learning and showcase what’s happening in your school. Eye catching, stimulating displays contribute to promoting your program throughout the broader school community.

Your displays provide meaningful recognition of children’s work.

They focus attention on a specific project, theme or cultural day.

They give children an opportunity to be involved in the presentation of their work.

They can contribute to the development of children’s skills in looking, seeing, observing and comparing, creating an atmosphere in which the learning is visible and active.

Even with limited time and resources you CAN create great displays.

When planning a display, always ask the following questions:

  • Who are the displays for?
  • What do we display?
  • Where do we display?
  • When do we display?
  • How do we create the display?
