Use the techniques this month for other areas of focus during the year.

• Santa in knots might be an old man with a beard from colonial days, or the head of a scruffy dog.

• Scratch Art is an ideal product to explore pattern and line. Begin with a small piece of Scratch-Art Paper White and use a Scraper Paper Tool to scratch away shapes of various sizes on that shape. Scrape patterns into each of the scratched shapes. Mount the scratched piece on a sheet of white paper and extend some of the patterns with a black pen. Mount this onto a sheet of black paper and continue the pattern with a white pen through to the edge of the black paper.

• Explore turning a triangle into a number of different forms, using the outline of a triangle soley as a guide. Mount them altogether to show how inventive you are.
