How to make a Recycled Brooch

  1. Sketch the outline of the shapes you want the brooch to be made up of on a scrap piece of paper.
  2. Use scissors to cut these shapes out of recycled soft plastic bottles or containers that have either different colours or patterns on them. Begin with the biggest shape which will be the one on the bottom.
  3. Layer the shapes one on top of the other and mark on each one where the hole will go.
  4. Use a Hole Punch or nail and hammer to punch a hole through the plastic shapes.
  5. Align the holes up and push an eyelet through to beneath the last shape, turn the shape over and use the closing tool in the eyelet kit to fasten all the shapes together.
  6. Use a Hot Melt Glue Gun to attach a Brooch Back to the back of the shape.
