To support the classroom theme of Australian Icons we decided to look at the work of Ken Done in art.A great deal of time was spent examining the colour and content of his paintings, especially those featuring Sydney and surrounds. We took note of his colourful borders and brainstormed ways to represent this in a vibrant way.Students chose one of his pieces as inspiration and loosely based their own paintings on these.The paintings were completed in Ocaldo paints. For the borders we tore and glued on tissue paper.
