How To:
- As part of our LOTE 'Carnivale' theme, all the students had the opportunity to make their own masks for the Carnivale Parade, which would take place at the culmination of their unit of work.
- The children were shown different kinds of masks (cultural, festive, novelty, etc.) and discussed when, where, why and who would wear these masks.
- Each CSF level was then given one particular kind of mask to produce:
LEVEL ONE- Novelty Monster Masks
LEVEL TWO- Indonesian Baron Masks
LEVEL THREE- Aboriginal Masks
LEVEL FOUR- Festive Mardi Gras Masks
- Each CSF level used construction and collage skills to produce their masks and some of the activities also involved drawing (designing), painting and modelling skills.
- Each of the activities touched on the elements of shape, colour, pattern and tone.
- A variety of mixed media was used to create the masks.
